We meet every Tuesday on Teams from 10am – 12 midday (BST)

Anyone with an institutional email! Any year, any uni, any subject. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a Master’s student, a PhD researcher, or you’ve graduated, anyone is welcome to take part.

You won’t be asked to turn your camera on. You can still talk to us using the chat.

We start with a 20-minute check-in or guest talk, then dive into focused writing time with two 5 minute breaks. Try to bring an idea of what you would like to achieve during the session, and come ready to write!

Our writing groups are sponsored by Editage. There is no cost for you to join. You can book your place through our Eventbrite link.

Community Guidelines

We invite you to embrace these community guidelines and actively contribute to our vibrant and supportive writing community. In order to foster a positive and productive environment for all members, we have established these guidelines to outline the expected conduct and principles within our writing community.

These guidelines are designed to ensure respectful communication, constructive feedback, and a supportive atmosphere where everyone feels valued and motivated to achieve their writing goals.

Treat all members with respect, kindness, and professionalism. Avoid engaging in personal attacks, harassment, or discriminatory behaviour. Use inclusive language and be mindful of diverse perspectives within the community.

Provide feedback on writing in a constructive and supportive manner. Focus on offering suggestions for improvement rather than criticizing or demeaning. Respect the author’s intentions and creative choices.

Respect the confidentiality and privacy of other members. Do not share any personal or sensitive information without explicit permission. Refrain from sharing any content from the group sessions outside of the community.

Maintain academic integrity in all discussions and interactions. Do not engage in plagiarism or any form of intellectual property infringement. Give proper credit to the original authors and sources when referencing or quoting.

Foster a collaborative and supportive environment for all members. Offer assistance, advice, and encouragement to fellow writers. Share resources, tips, and strategies to help each other improve.

Respect the platform and tools used for the group sessions. Familiarize yourself with the guidelines and rules of the specific platform (e.g., Teams, Eventbrite). Seek technical support when needed and contribute to maintaining a smooth online experience.

Adhere to these community guidelines at all times. Report any violations or concerns to the writing group lead or designated moderators. Failure to comply with the guidelines may result in a warning or removal from the group.
